White Fillings ﹀
Where a tooth has decayed leaving visible holes in the teeth (or under the unbroken surfaces) we can usually offer composite or white fillings which, unlike the metal amalgam fillings:
- chemically bond to teeth
- can be used to repair teeth that are chipped and broken
- require less tooth preparation (drilling), so more of your healthy natural tooth is retained
White fillings are not suitable for all situations but where they are, they:
- will be matched to your own tooth colour
- can reshape and rebuild broken tips, corners and the edges of teeth
- be used to cover unsightly marks within teeth
- can restore the shape, colour and function of teeth close to their original state
It is important to remember that no type of restoration can perfectly replace what nature created. Where white fillings are not suitable, attractive alternatives are available.
